DeMarlo Hale leaves Orioles for Blue Jays
- Updated: November 24, 2012
DeMarlo Hale is the newest addition to the Blue Jays.
The Orioles 3B coach interviewed for the position earlier in the week. Although the Orioles had extended their offer to stay with the club as a 3B coach, Hale is headed to Toronto to work under John Gibbons.
This could mean that Don Wakamatsu will not be returning to Toronto, unless he is offered a job as a base coach.
Before he joined the Orioles, Hale coached alongside John Farrell in Boston. He left the Red Sox to join Baltimore last season.
Hale’s loss is fairly big to the Orioles, who were hoping to have their staff signed by the end of this week.
