Michael Bourn: A fit for all teams

Michael Bourn is one of, if not the best free-agent currently available on the free-agent market. Besides being a perfect lead-off hitter with a .274 batting average and 42 stolen bases, Bourn would be a perfect fit for all 30 MLB teams. ALL. Here are reasons why I think each team would need Michael Bourn:

Arizona Diamondbacks: The D-Backs are in need of another outfielder to support Justin Upton, especially if he winds up getting traded.

Atlanta Braves: The Braves would love to sign Bourn back. They  are in need of an on-base guy.

Baltimore Orioles: The O’s just came off a great season and look to get stronger in 2013. With a lead-off hitter like Bourn at the top of this line-up, followed by Markakis and Jones, this line-up would be terrifying come 2013.

Boston Red Sox: Michael Bourn would be a great lead-off hitter for the Sox and would use Fenway to his advantage.

Chicago Cubs: The Cubs have been looking for a young face of the organization for a while. Michael Bourn would produce runs and draw more fans to the stadium every night.

Chicago White Sox: The White Sox could use Bourn as a lead-off hitter and get on base for Konerko and Dunn to produce runs.

Cincinnati Reds: The Reds could use him in the 2 spot behind Choo to make a speedy 1-2 punch.

Cleveland Indians: The tribe could use Bourn to boost up attendance and spark up a rather dull offense.

Colorado Rockies: The Rockies could use Bourn in many ways. He would be a great left-fielder over in Colorado and will hit for more power.

Detroit Tigers: Bourn would be used in the 9 spot so that he could get on base for Austin Jackson to bunt him over or start a rally. This is another team that he would fit perfectly in left.

Houston Astros: The Astros could use him as a lead-off hitter and as a mentor for all of the young players on the team.

Kansas City Royals: Bourn will improve the Royal’s defense and overall offense.

Los Angeles Angels: The Angels will cap off a star outfield with Hamilton in left, Trout in center, and Bourn in right. He would add even more speed to this club making this team virtually impossible to defeat.

Los Angeles Dodgers: The Dodgers could use Bourn as a lead-off hitter to get on-base for Adrian Gonzalez and Matt Kemp.

Miami Marlins: The Marlins are coming off a disappointing 2012. With a guy like Bourn in the clubhouse, he will bring some confidence back to the Fish come 2013.

Milwaukee Brewers: The Brewers would enjoy Bourn in right. He will also be on base for Ryan Braun.

Minnesota Twins: The Twins just lost Denard Span and could use someone like Bourn to take his place. He will get on base and steal to get in scoring position for Mauer and Morneau.

New York Mets: The Mets would benefit from a guy like Bourn. He will come to the park with a positive attitude that will spread throughout the locker room.

New York Yankees: The Yankees, in my opinion, would benefit the most from Bourn. They don’t look like they’re re-signing Nick Swisher, they have a young player in left by the name of Brett Gardner, they need a lead-off hitter that can get on base and start rallies, and they need somebody young in the clubhouse.

Oakland Athletics: The A’s are coming off a great 2012 season full of young stars. Bourn could DH or replace Cespedes in left since he is an inexperienced outfielder.

Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies need a young speedy glove out in right and a guy who can easily produce runs.

Pittsburgh Pirates: The Pirates started the 2012 year on fire, but cooled off near the end of the year. With a guy like Bourn, the Pirates have an even better offense than last year and have better chances of getting into the play-offs.

San Diego Padres: The Padres offense has been poor the last few years. With a bat like Bourn’s to spark up the offense, the Padres can produce more runs.

San Francisco Giants: The Giants come off a World Series win and a sweep of the best team in the American League. If they add Bourn, this team will have an even scarier lineup than last years and somebody who easily replaces Melky Cabrera.

Seattle Mariners: Although they lost the Josh Hamilton sweepstakes, the M’s are still looking for a star outfielder. Michael Bourn fits this role perfectly. He will add more speed to the team and will produce more runs.

St. Louis Cardinals: The Cards are looking for more ways to improve after being defeated by the Giants in the 2012 NLCS. With a guy like Bourn, this team will not only get a great lead-off hitter, they will get a great glove and great speed.

Tampa Bay Rays: The Rays lost B.J Upton to the Braves and are now looking for somebody to replace him. Bourn is even better than Upton numbers wise. Bourn hit .274 while Upton hit only .246. Bourn has the same great glove as Upton but with even more speed.

Texas Rangers: The Rangers’ loss of Hamilton to the Angels now leaves a gap in the outfield. Bourn is faster and has a better glove than Hamilton. He would be a great fit.

Toronto Blue Jays: The Jays are still in need of a good lead-off hitter despite signing Jose Reyes. Bourn stole more bases than Reyes and had a better OBP.

Washington Nationals: The Nats are in need of a healthy right fielder and a speedster on the bases. Bourn would help the Nationals get further in the playoffs and give his 101% in this winning environment.

So now we see, that all 30 teams could use this star right fielder in many ways to help them achieve the ultimate goal: winning the World Series.
