Season Ends Early for Angels Outfielder
Angels fans may have been wondering why sightings of outfielder Peter Bourjos have become more and more scarce.
Bourjos spent most of the season on the DL after suffering an injury when he was hit by a pitch (broken right wrist) in Houston on June 29. Bourjos will undergo season ending surgery Tuesday to repair his wrist.
The good news is, he will be back in a couple months to go back to baseball activities. The bad news is, he was one of the Halos’ strongest hitters when he was healthy. The 26 year-old was hitting .370 in June before breaking his wrist.
In 2013 Borjous hit for .274 with 175 at-bats, 48 hits, and 12 RBI’s in 55 games.
The Angels are currently 3rd in the AL Western Division at a 67-75 record. With Bourjos coming back next year along with a hopefully healthy Albert Pujols and an always impressive Mike Trout, this team will have what it takes to be a playoff team. However, that’s next season.
