Baltimore Orioles agree to terms with Tyler Colvin

The Baltimore Orioles continued their undisturbed hording of obtainable outfield depth on Wednesday, as they agreed to terms with outfielder Tyler Colvin pending a physical, as reported by Dan Connelly of the Baltimore Sun.

The 28-year old Colvin bottomed out in Colorado last season, struggling to a .160/.192/.280 batting line in 78 plate appearances for the Rockies before being banished to Triple-A Colorado Springs. A year removed from a .290/.327/.520 big league campaign, the left-handed hitting Colvin has struggled immensely against southpaw pitching to the tune of a .217/.255/.385 line in just over 300 at bats.

The former Cub was Chicago’s number one pick in the 2006 draft, chosen 13th overall and Baseball America’s 75th ranked prospect prior to the 2008 season.
